Join us in Congratulating The North Face ultra runners Sebastien Chaigneau (FR) and Fernanda Maciel (BR) as they take on the podium to receive their prizes for claiming 1st position for the Men’s and Women’s category of the 2012 edition of The North Face Transgrancanaria respectively.
Sebastien Chaigneau (FR) finished with a record breaking time of 12h:54m:18s setting a new record for The North Face Transgrancanaria.
In the final results, The North Face ultra runner Fernanda Maciel (BR) today, got on the podium as the winner for the 123km women’s category and 5th overall in a time of 15h:02m:29s after the judges disqualified Emma Rocca Rodriguez (ESP), first woman yesterday to cross the finish line but was later discovered by the judges to have missed a check point.
After the confirmation of results today at 10.30am, Sunday 4th March, a happy Fernanda explained “For me the result was a mystery, all morning I was the first woman and I did not know how Emma had passed me. I am sorry for Emma Roca but it is important to go through all the controls. I am very happy because I had a great race and I enjoyed myself”.
