Friday 1st March 2013, 420 ultra-runners, from across Spain and Europe, began the long night’s run of 119km starting at Agaete.

Join us in Congratulating The North Face ultra runners Sebastien Chaigneau (FR) and Fernanda Maciel (BR) as they take on the podium to receive their prizes for claiming 1st position for the Men’s and Women’s category of the 2012 edition of The North Face Transgrancanaria respectively.

In the women’s category for the 123km race, The North Face athlete, Fernanda Maciel (BR), has finished in 2nd position with a very good time of 15:02:29 behind Emma Rocca Rodriguez (ES) who finished in the 1st position with a time of 14:52:16. With a time difference of 10 mins between, the two ladies ran really closely since the start of the race.

The North Face Athlete, Sebastien Chaigneau has won the 2012 edition of the 123km Transgrancanaria and setting a new record of 12:54:18. Cheered by the audience, Sebastien crossed the finish line with so much enthusiasm and energy. Sebastien ran the race with the new Spring 12 North Face Single-Tracks Hayasa, which is built on the Cradle technology engineered to stabilize the foot and naturally absorb impact proud of his running shoes he finished raising them up to the crowd.Trully Athletes tested, competition proven.

After 54Km, The North Face athletes, Zigor Iturrieta and Lizzy Hawker; both winners of the last edition of the Transgrancanaria in the Men’s and Women’s categories respectively have unfortunately discontinued their participation in this year’s edition.
